Friends of Rocheport Museum
Located at 101 Moniteau Street, the Friends of Rocheport Museum is filled with artifacts from our town’s colorful past.
Please note!
The museum will be closed in 2026 while we renovate the interior and update displays.
Built in the 1830s, this is one of the oldest buildings in Rocheport. It was originally the home of George Gregory, a local merchant. The Friends of Rocheport purchased the building in 1970. It opened as a museum in 1972 to preserve and display artifacts related to the history of Rocheport to help educate the public about our rich history.
In 2025, the museum underwent extensive exterior renovations to preserve the soft bricks and prevent interior damage from the elements. Topping off the renovation, the Friends commissioned a mural on the south exterior wall to celebrate the bicentennial that reflects Rocheport’s history. The mural was painted by well-known local artist Joe Schlottach.
This work was made possible with generous support from Friends member Brenda Rapp West, the Stafford Family Charitable Trust and the Missouri State Historical Society.
